The Nokia Booklet 3G was Nokia’s first and last entry in the netbook market. It featured 3G connectivity, amazing battery life, and its design and build quality were generally considered industry leading. But the launch of the iPad a few months later saw netbook sales drop through the floor – and the Booklet 3G’s premium price didn’t help matters.
For various reasons, highly innovative early work done by a creative team was not incorporated into the finished product. I was involved with its design development from the beginning, and did all the final CAD modeling in Catia.
